Personal Statement
Les is married to Cllr Jackie Jones, has two daughters, 7 grandchildren and has live in the Heatons for 36 years. He is fully committed to the Heatons area, as his wide variety of committee responsibilities shows. Les runs his own business and this enables him to give the time needed to fulfill his responsibilities as a Ward Councillor and Leader of the Conservative Group.
Les has a strong interest in educational issues and has built up considerable experience acting in his role as a Governor at both Priestnall School and Didsbury Road Primary School for over 20 years.
Les is a long standing member of the Conservative Disability Group and strongly supports adequate provisions being made available to disabled people throughout the Borough.
Les firmly believes that a Councillor's role involves consulting local residents and taking local needs and opinions into account for the best results. Reaching a successful result for local people makes the demands of being a councillor well worthwhile.
At home with 7 grandchildren, Les is never happier than when one of them says "Grandad do you know anything about...?"
