Personal Statement

Anthony was born in Manchester and educated at St Bede's College and Manchester University. He taught at primary schools in Manchester and Trafford before coming to Stockport as a Head Teacher. For many years Anthony was the school representative of the Teacher's Union, the NASUWT.

Anthony spent six years teaching in developing countries, two years in Kenya, East Africa and four years in the Solomon Islands. He continues his strong involvement with local education issues in his role of Chairman of the Governors at St Winifred's R.C. Primary School.

Anthony is married with a family and has lived in Heaton Moor for 23 years. Outside of politics he is an active member of St Winifred's Parish, Heaton Mersey.
